While other industry-related designations are limited primarily to the executive level by their price and classroom requirements, the Graduate of Mortgage Lending is not. The GML program is available to all industry professionals seeking to advance, as well as to those considering a career in mortgage lending. Travel and classroom attendance or corporate sponsorship are not required. You progress through the programed text at your own pace, at your computer or mobile device. The GML program is priced at $349, before any discounts are applied. Contact us to learn of available discounts or grants.
The Institute of Mortgage Lending has now completed its upgrade to the GML Credential program.
Our new text, The Mortgage Professional’s Handbook, propels our mission well into the 21st century; and, in celebration of the launch of our new, online learning system, we are offering a 50/50 incentive. The first fifty registrants to complete the program will receive a $50 tuition rebate grant from the Foundation.
The Institute of Mortgage Lending is the oldest program of its kind. We are unique as a designation conferring education program available to professionals in all fields and at all levels in the industry.
The Institute was founded in 1988 with the belief that our industry is improved only when each worker is educated beyond the individual silo of their position. The initial designation, Graduate of Mortgage Lending (GML), has been achieved by hundreds of professionals from executive to early entry professionals. Following the 2008 financial crisis the program was dormant until the Mortgage Industry Foundation acquired the Institute late last year.
Your future awaits you at the Institute of Mortgage Lending
The Mortgage Industry Foundation proudly announces the acquisition of The Institute of Mortgage Lending (IML) from the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women (NAPMW). This purchase will provide additional means for the Foundation to fulfill its purpose of providing valuable, yet affordable, educational opportunities to members of the mortgage industry community.
The Institute of Mortgage Lending was established as an education arm of NAPMW and conferred its first designations in 1991. Following that launch of the Graduate of Mortgage Lending program, three additional programs were introduced over the next fifteen years. During its active years The Institute provided educational opportunity to hundreds of mortgage industry workers at all levels of employment.
Founded in 1993 as a 501 (c) 3, tax exempt corporation, the Mortgage Industry Foundation has been a valuable supporter of The Institute of Mortgage Lending. Because the various course offerings of the IML have been unavailable for several years, the Foundation looks forward to updating and reviving the Graduate of Mortgage Lending (GML) and Master of Mortgage Lending (MML) designation-conferring programs in the coming year. We will keep you updated throughout our progress.
In the past two months we have collected far more than high page views to our new site. We have welcomed sponsors and donors in support of our mission and we have begun receiving new applications for scholarships. As you review our site, please make note of our sponsors. We celebrated the completion of our 25th Year with a new name – Mortgage Industry Foundation – and the expansion of our scope and mission.
It would not be possible for us to pursue the new, ambitious goals we have set for the next twenty-five years if it weren’t for the support of our Donors and Sponsors.
Over the years our Donor list has numbered several hundred individuals. A new form of recognition is now in place to thank each future Donor.
In particular, we are grateful to the Members of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women for the inspiration that served as our founding mission, as well as the overwhelming financial support they have provided throughout our history. We look forward to our continued relationship.
As a mirror of our mission our Sponsors include a representation of diverse areas of the mortgage industry.
We are proud to welcome the addition of Guild Mortgage, National MI and Home Inspections Plus+ to our Sponsor program. Please follow the links to each Sponsor.
With your support we will be providing access to professional education to a much wider audience. The Foundation will also move into the second phase of its mission – Consumer Education.
Please join us in our mission to create a well-educated work-force at all levels of the mortgage industry who will better serve the needs of our valuable consumers.
